Precision Pistol
Slow- and rapid-fire strings on standard ISSF targets. The discipline that built the club. Centrefire and rimfire divisions.
City Pistol Club runs a single, consistent monthly event: a Sunday morning match preceded by a coaching block. One date to remember; a year of steady progression.
Match days follow the same predictable rhythm so members can plan around them and visitors know what to expect.
We meet every third Sunday of the month. Dates may move when public holidays or range maintenance fall on the same day — check email for confirmation each month.
Our matches blend ISSF-style precision with practical drills, scaled to our indoor range distances.
Slow- and rapid-fire strings on standard ISSF targets. The discipline that built the club. Centrefire and rimfire divisions.
Time-controlled strings on practical targets, with magazine changes and shooting from realistic ready positions.
An accessible discipline for newer shooters and a classic skill-builder for everyone — light recoil, demanding fundamentals.
TODO: confirm match formats and divisions actually run by the committee.
Each match day includes a short coaching block run by experienced members. Topics rotate across the year so members get systematic coverage of the fundamentals — not just match practice.
If you're new to pistol shooting, you'll be paired with an experienced member for your first few matches. Loaner gear is available; our priority is getting you safe, steady and scoring.
